Current Initatives

  • Currently under construction as a new transit-oriented housing and commercial project.

  • Located at 65 East Cottage Street, former home of the Maxwell Box Company.

  • 125,400 sq. ft. of interior space, including 20,000 sq. ft. of industrial/commercial space.

  • 88 units of housing, including 8 units of market rate homeownership units.

  • Recently received an extra $2.25 million in funding from MassWorks to improve infrastructure.

  • Currently being converted from a mixed-use building to a fully commercial hub of activity.

  • Located on the intersection of Columbia Road and Dudley Street, the two most highly traveled streets in Upham's Corner.

  • Home to both Dorchester Bay Economic Development Corporation and the Fairmount Innovation Lab.

  • Opportunities for street-level retail and commercial space available currently.

  • Currently being transformed from an old comfort station to a bicycle shop and cafe.

  • Located at 611 Columbia Road, the site of the Upham's Corner Comfort Station, built in 1912 as a part of the old trolley car system.

  • Will contribute to the increase of commercial activity in Upham's Corner, as well as stay in touch with the neighborhood's history.

  • Currently owned by the City of Boston, who has asked for a request for ideas in activating the building.

  • Building will be used by a selected operator at no cost for short-term activation project.

  • Planned to be the new site of the Upham's Corner branch of the Boston Public Library.

  • Deadline to respond to the RFI is May 4th.
